Johnny Marr

Every year Pukkelpop invites at least one living legend and this time we have the honour of hosting Johnny Marr. His scintillating work for The Smiths catapulted him into stardom and earned him the status of one of the most influential guitarists of the last thirty years. Without Marr, no Oasis or Stone Roses. Even after the demise of The Smiths the British guitar god continued to make his mark, amongst others with The The, The Cribs and Modest Mouse. He was here once before in 2013 to introduce his solo record ‘The Messenger’ in Kiewit. Last year’s ‘Call the Comet’ - his best solo effort yet according to some music critics - is a wonderful addition to his discography. Already a legendary headlining gig in the Club.
