Biography

Young Stormzy was brought up on the music of heroes such as Wiley and Skepta but by now those two are just distant dots in the London rapper’s rearview mirror. Hits like ‘Know Me From’ and ‘Shut Up’ have meanwhile become part and parcel of the British hip hop heritage. His full-length debut ‘Gang Signs & Prayers’ was the first UK Grime album to top the British music charts. Moreover, Stormzy doesn’t shy away from a bit of political activism. At last year’s Brit Awards he criticised the government with a freestyle. Funny tidbit: Stormzy and Romelu Lukaku look alike, something the two stars occasionally joke about.
